As a huge fan of the series, Tales was starting to get very stagnant since Tales of Xillia so I’m personally really happy with Bandai Namco took 5 years to work on Tales of Arise so old and new fans get a new and modern take on the Tales formula. The game was also built with the new current-gen consoles in mind, so players will notice a huge jump in fidelity compared to the previous game in the series – Tales of Berseria.
The new engine allows the developers the ability to have better graphical detail and visual quality with the Arise team targeting the level of 3D films and television media. The game is built on Unreal Engine 4, leaving behind the series’ proprietary and aged Tales engine used in previous games. Tales of Arise is a very special entry in the Tales of Arise series as it does a lot of things differently to previous games in the series as well as sets a new precedent for upcoming games in the series.
